Children are Free

The only stipulation we make is that a maximum of FOUR children only must accompany one adult paying the full admission price for the castle and gardens.

Sherborne Castle is a great place to visit for children. There is ample space to run around in the grounds, walk around the 50-acre lake spotting the ducks, swans and other wildlife on the water, or the fallow deer basking in the deer park – see if you can find one of the rare white deer, if you do it may bring you luck!

Picnic in the grounds or in the designated areas shown on the gardens map, or visit our Tea Rooms serving delicious Dorset ice cream and soft drinks while Mum and Dad enjoy a light lunch or afternoon tea.

To add a slice of educational interest to your day, why not try our Children’s Pack, available for purchase for £1, this contains a pencil, Castle Quiz and Children’s nature trail.

The Children’s Pack is available from Castle Reception, and off you go to learn about wildlife in the gardens besides some history too.
